About Me

OK, so here is me in a bit more detail.

My name is Ian Hedges. I am 45, male and live in the UK. I am married to Joanne and have 2 children, who I don’t intend to name for privacy reasons.
When I left school, I trained and qualified as an electronics engineer at M/A-COM Ltd. Over a few years I became responsible for the computers and design software within the engineering department and in 1995 I transferred into the IT department.
For 7 years, I was a parent governor at a local school, Watling Lower School, and I still visit the school weekly to teach an after school recorder group.
I have been researching my family history since the mid 1990’s and am slowly tracking my ancestors and distant relatives down.
I have owned a camera since I was 12 and at school got into developing and printing my own black and white films. I have not had a lot of time to concentrate on photography over the past years, but intend to correct that as time goes on. I haven’t made the change to digital, despite all its advantages and still use a 35mm SLR with colour negative film. I am much more comfortable behind the camera than in front of it, which explains the lack of photos of me.
Since the summer of 2007, I have been attending Dunstable Music Centre and have resurrected my interest in playing musical instruments from my school days.
I have had my own website and domain (ijhedges.com) since 2002.
